About THE PROJECT
These Paper Installations were created with the two 6th grade classes at Ray Elementary School in the spring of 2012 as part of a year-long Pathways Program, an outreach partnership with the Hyde Park Art Center. Teaching artist Meredith Eastburn met with each class once a week for 30 weeks over the school-year and worked on a variety of art units, including Personal Maps, Sketchbook Remix, Art of Play, Memory Cards, Young Authors Bookbinding, and Paper Installations . For this unit, students looked at and discussed object-based installations as well as installations made with just paper.
